PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature protection method for a recording head capable of precisely executing reporting corresponding to the condition of the recording head, and a recording device. SOLUTION: The recording head 9 is provided with temperature detection elements 62 capable of detecting temperature of piezoelectric vibrators 36 arranged at each of them. A CPU 52 built in a printer 1 inputs a detected temperature from the temperature detection element 62 and judges whether the detected temperature is above a set temperature or not. When the detected temperature is above the set temperature, the CPU 52 judges the recording head 9 is higher than the specified value and executers a cleaning operation plural times (N times). After having executed the cleaning operation, the CPU 52 judges again whether the detected temperature is above the set temperature or not, and in the case the detected temperature still remains above the set temperature, the CPU 52 makes the display 68 of a personal computer 50 show a notice to make a service call. Meanwhile, when the detected temperature is lower than the set temperature after the cleaning operation, the CPU 52 judges that the recording head 9 restores from the high temperature condition and does not make the display 68 show the notice to make the service call. |
