PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spool having high rigidity as a product and practically sufficient bending strength of flanges and designed to be recycled as material for a new spool or other paper products requiring rigidity even when it is to be disposed of because its damage and deformation is too large for it to be reused as it is. SOLUTION: In the spool 10 for wire material, comprising a hollow core material 1 and a pair of paper flange members 3 fitted at both sides of the hollow core material 1, plate-shape bodies 4 of the flange members 3 are provided with multiple three-dimensional stiffening ribs 12 radially arranged and peripheral ribs 14, 15 provided along the peripherals of the plate-shape bodies 4 which are integrally formed.
