<p>Transporting air is fed downwards towards the breeze coke filling, through separate tubes in a ring furnace for the production of carbon electrodes for the metallurgical industry. The air feed is through separate tubes which open close to the point where the suction pipes for the removal of the breeze coke are located. Pref. the assembly for removing the coke consists of two or more pipes feeding air and two or more pipes for sucking up and carrying away the coke. The tubes are arranged alongside each other in a straight line. For the production of electrodes, esp. for the electrolytic manufacture of aluminium, from a paste mixture of anthracite, petroleum coke and pitch, which is baked for pref. in a furnace.</p> |
