PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain new particles that suppress unusual orientation in a liquid crystal display element and are useful for a spacer for the liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: Fine particles that are made form core fine particles 1 are provided. Such fine particles have the core fine particle 1 and plasma synthetic layer on the surface of the core fine particle. The core fine particle is made of a polymer and the plasma synthetic layer is formed on the surface of the core fine particle by low-temperature plasma treatment on the core fine particle in an organic gas environment. An example of such equipment in order to manufacture the fine particle form the core fine particles 1 is equipped with a reactor 3, a rotating machine 4 that rotates the reactor 3, a pressure-reducing machine 5 and a high-frequency generator. The core fine particles 1 are charged into the reactor 3. The pressure in the reactor 3 is reduced by a pressure-reducing machine 4 and an organic gas 7 is introduced into the reactor 3. The plasma is generated in the reactor 3 by high frequency from a high-frequency generator 6. The plasma synthetic layer is formed on the surface of the core fine particle 1 through rolling or the core fine particle 1 by rotation of the rotator 3 and the low-temperature plasma treatment of the core fine particle 1 in the environment of the organic gas 7. |
