PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing smokeless charcoal, by which the charcoal is produced from a raw material such as building waste wood or the like with a carbonization combustion style combustion furnace obtained by improving a perfect combustion style combustion furnace, and to provide a device therefor. SOLUTION: This method for producing the smokeless charcoal from the building waste wood or the like as a main raw material is characterized by comprising a charcoal raw material storage chamber 2 for storing the raw material M, such as the building waste wood, sequentially charged from a charcoal raw material-charging opening 1, a low temperature carbonization chamber 3 for carbonizing at low temperature the charcoal raw material raw material stored in the charcoal raw material storage chamber, a carbonization-adjusting stockade 5 for adjusting the carbonization of the low temperature charcoal raw material in the low carbonization chamber, a high temperature carbonization chamber 4 for carbonizing the low temperature charcoal raw material loaded on a carbonization-adjusting stockade at a high temperature of >=1,000 deg.C, a residual gas-treating chamber (carbonization temperature- adjusting chamber) 11 for exhausting high temperature heat generated on the carbonization or the like in the high temperature carbonization chamber, treating the residual gas and simultaneously once storing white charcoal produced in the high temperature carbonization chamber to adjust the temperature, and an exhausted gas flue 13 for exhausting out the exhausted gas in the residual gas-treating chamber (carbonization temperature-adjusting chamber). And the device therefore is provided.
