PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source system for an endoscopic apparatus which is capable of photographing one shape of an area which vibrates with specific periodicity as a bright still picture without the deflection and the occurrence of the harmful effects of electromagnetic waves, etc., having a possibility of hindering operations. SOLUTION: The light source system for the endoscopic apparatus has one light source which emits continuous light, luminous flux converging means for converging the continuous light emitted from the light source and light controllable means having a first light controllable means which is arranged on the optical path where the luminous fluxes are converged by the luminous flux converging means, has at least one the first opening of a size to allow the transmission of all of the luminous fluxes in the position where the member is arranged and is rotationally driven by a shaft extending in a direction parallel with the rectilinear progression direction of the luminous fluxes in synchronization with the frequency of the area vibrating at the prescribed frequency. The system is so constituted that the continuous light emitted from the light source is emitted as flash when the first opening crosses the luminous fluxes.
