RECORDER AND RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recorder in which shift of image recording position caused by behavior of a recording sheet when the read end thereof comes off a pair roller on the upstream side is reduced through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: An area recordable by single scanning of a recording head is divided into a plurality of sub-areas which are recorded with different nozzles of the recording head by carrying a recording sheet by an amount corresponding to each sub-area. At the time of recording the rear end of the recording sheet, a nozzle in the recording head not yet used for recording is set by decreasing the carrying amount. When the recording sheet comes off an upstream paired roller and carried more than the rotational amount of that roller, the range of a nozzle being used is shifted using the not yet used nozzle depending on the excess rotational amount, thus correcting excess carriage of the recording sheet.
