PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to make a stencil printing plate for screen printing easily in a method and device for screen platemaking. SOLUTION: In making the stencil printing plate for the screen printing by conveying a fabric stencil printing plate paper 22 in subscanning direction with a platen roller 25 and punching the fabric stencil printing plate paper 22 that is conveyed in the subscanning direction in main scanning direction at right angles to the subscanning direction with a thermal head 23 based on manuscript information, a long fabric stencil printing plate paper is installed in a stencil printing plate paper installing part 20 in a subscanning direction as the fabric stencil printing plate paper 22, the margin length of the stencil printing plate to be made and the length of the subscanning direction that is the overall length of the stencil printing plate are set with a set panel, the formation of an image starts from a position which is the margin length away from the head of the fabric stencil printing plate paper 22 and at the same time the fabric stencil printing plate paper 22 is cut in a position which is the length of the subscanning direction away from the head in the main scanning direction with a paper cutter 24.
