PURPOSE: To provide a position calculation method capable of determining a proper position even when the ranging errors do not form a distribution symmetrical to positive and negative. CONSTITUTION: This position calculation method for calculating the position of a terminal device by using a propagation delay time of a received signal comprises a procedure wherein a first distance which is the difference between the distance between the terminal device and plural antennas calculated based on the propagation delay time of a radio signal, and the distance between the terminal device and a reference antenna is calculated, and a second distance which is the difference between the distance between the position of the terminal device assumed in calculation and the plural antennas, and the distance between the position of the terminal device assumed in calculation and the reference antenna is calculated, and likelihood of the position of the terminal device is calculated, and a procedure wherein the above procedure is repeated, to thereby retrieve a point where the likelihood becomes maximum, and the retrieved maximum likelihood point is defined as the position of the terminal device.
