PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an exhaust gas gathering pipe for gathering exhaust gas from an exhaust passage of an engine of an outboard motor. SOLUTION: An exhaust pipe 13 extending downward from the engine E of the outboard motor O is covered with exhaust pipe covers 32, 33 so ass to define a passage for cooling water on the outer periphery thereof. The base end of the exhaust gas gathering pipe 34 penetrates the exhaust pipe covers 32, 33 to be inserted into the exhaust pipe 13, and the tip end of the exhaust gas gathering pipe 34 is blocked by a detachable plug 36. The exhaust gas gathering pipe 34 is stored in an engine cover 1 detachably supported at the upper part of an under case 2, and protected from damage caused by a collision with other articles. Exhaust gas is gathered from the exhaust gas gathering pipe 34, while the engine cover is removed. |
