PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the trouble that not only manpower is required for washing a liquid storage tank but also the supply of water from the liquid storage tank is limited and the supply of water from the tank is stopped during washing when the tank is washed frequently though the tank has been washed frequently for keep the tank, in which potable water or the like is stored, clean while a problem on sanitation is aroused because the dirt on the tank is left as it is when the frequency of washing is reduced. SOLUTION: The liquid storage tank A has a vessel body 10 in which a liquid can be stored and an optical irradiation device 20. At least a part of the interior wall surface of the vessel body 10 is covered with a photocatalyst. The section covered with the photocatalyst of the interior wall surface is irradiated with light by the optical irradiation device 20.
