PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circular combustor improved such that combustion is stabilized while suppressing emission of unburnt components. SOLUTION: The circular combustor 1 comprises a tubular combustion chamber 2 having one open side. The combustion chamber 2 has a straight tubular inner shape opening at one end and a recessed combustion chamber is defined by the inner wall. An occupying matter 3 of ceramic is disposed in the center of the combustion chamber. The occupying matter 3 is substantially conical and has a bottom face coplanar with the bottom face of the combustion chamber 2 with the vertex directing the downstream side of the combustion chamber 2. The occupying matter 3 is erecting while aligning the central axis thereof substantially with that of the combustion chamber 2. The occupying matter 3 is located at a position corresponding to the central part of a swirl and occupies the majority of a negative pressure region generated by the swirl.
