PURPOSE: A frequency synthesizer is provided to reduce an amount of memory to be used at a digital frequency synthesizer by utilizing an interpolation member instead of storing samples of required all waveforms at a read only memory(ROM). CONSTITUTION: A frequency synthesize apparatus for a digital transceiver includes a basic tone generator(200) for generating a basic sign wave by using a sign look-up table and a phase accumulator, a μ generator(300) for generating a maximum accumulated value μmax, μ representing a symbol transition signal m0 and a sample position by receiving a desired frequency value, an interpolation member(300) and a filter(400) for filtering the output from the interpolation member(300). After receiving a basic sign wave outputted from the basic tone generator(200), a sample position μ outputted from the μ generator(300), the symbol transition signal m0 and the maximum accumulated value μmax, the interpolation member(300) calculates an amplitude of the sign wave at the sample position μ from the basic sign wave sample and generates a final sign wave by scaling the calculated value to the maximum accumulated value μmax.
