摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optically active aminofuranone and hydroxyfuranone containing one enantiomer richly in high yield without causing racemization. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing aminofuranone and hydroxyfuranone containing one enantiomer richly which is carried out as follows: a cyanohydrin containing one enantiomer richly is acylated with an acylating agent, subsequently the reaction product is cyclized in the presence of zinc or a zinc compound at 40-90 deg.C to obtain a corresponding aminofuran containing one enantiomer richly, and if necessary, the aminofuranone is subjected to acid hydrolysis to convert it to a corresponding hydroxyfuranone containing one enantiomer richly.
