PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device capable of accurately and easily setting geodesic system before measuring position at more number of places. SOLUTION: A memory of this positioning device stores the geodesic system data including a geodesic system number showing several geodesic systems to be used for position measurement, city name, latitude, longitude and time difference. Before measuring position, when setting the geodesic system corresponding to an area to be used, mark names of several famous sights and buildings previously registered as landmarks by a user are displayed, and the user chooses the predetermined landmark (SB1-SB3). The geodesic system data corresponding to the chosen landmark is searched (SB3), and the geodesic system data expressed with the geodesic system number of the corresponding geodesic system data is set as a position measuring geodesic system (SB4). A geodesic system corresponding to a destination registered by the user in place of the landmarks is set as a position measuring geodesic system. |
