摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension device capable of sufficing an understeer tendency caused by roll steering during turn-traveling without sacrificing rectilinear performance during non-steering. SOLUTION: In this suspension device, a rack housing 1a of a rack-and-pinion type steering gear 1 disposed in front of a king pin shaftαis vertically displaceably supported, and both ends of a rack 1b are supported by the lower end of a vertical link 21 swingable in the vehicle width direction. The height of the steering gear 1 is decided such that the axis of a tie rod 4 passes the vertical swing center Oc of an axle 3 during non-steering when the link 21 occupies a continuous line. Accordingly, no toe angle change occurs even if suspension by a road surface unevenness is present during the non-steering (rectilinear traveling) to avoid the deterioration of the rectilinear performance. Because the link 21 occupies a broken line by a stroke of the rack 1b to lift the steering gear 1 to a position shown in Figure during steering, a suspension stroke during rolling generates a toe angle change (the roll steer) in the understeer direction to stabilize a vehicle behavior during the turn-traveling.
