ACTIVE METAL MAGNESIUM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYSILANE BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economically advantageous method for producing a polysilane, having excellent safety and productivity. SOLUTION: The polysilane is produced by reacting a halosilane compound in the presence of at least an active metal magnesium in the coexistence of an alkali metal compound and a metal halide in an aprotic solvent. The active metal magnesium is obtained by subjecting the halosilane compound and the metal magnesium to a stirring treatment in the presence of the alkali metal compound and the metal halide in the aprotic solvent. By the method, the induction time for the reaction can be shortened even if the amount of the used metal magnesium is small.
