A friction element, more particularly for a motor vehicle brake, comprising a support (2), a friction lining (3) secured to the support, and a lining wear detector in the form of a conductive wire (4) partly housed in a recess (e) formed in the surface (2a) of the support to which the lining is secured, said friction element being adapted to be subjected to the action of a member (7) to thrust it into contact with the surface (2b) of the support remote from the lining so that said lining is applied to a part to be braked, characterized in that the surface (2b) of the support remote from the friction lining (3) has a projection (9) registering with the recess (e), said projection being adapted to cooperate with the thrust means (7) to stop the rotation of said thrust means in relation to the friction element (1).</p> |
