Use of one or more aqueous, alcoholic or hydroalcoholic extracts of legumes as anti-pollution agent and more specifically as a heavy metal trapping agent in a composition for topical application to keratinic matter. An Independent claim is also included for a process of cosmetic treatment of keratinic matter to improve cellular respiration and/or reduce desquamation and/or avoid staining and/or soiling by application of a composition comprising the extract(s).
