PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording material having high ink absorbability and glossiness and a high printing density. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording material comprises an ink accepting layer near a water resistant support and containing a vapor phase process silica, boric acid or a borate and a polyvinyl alcohol having a polymerization degree of less than 3,000, an ink accepting layer far from the water resistant support and containing an alumina or an alumina hydrate, a boric acid or a borate and a polyvinyl alcohol having a polymerization degree of 3,000 or more. |
