PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device for on-vehicle equipment with excellent input operability though an input operation for an on-vehicle equipment operation system during driving is suppressed. SOLUTION: This operation device has a steering wheel 1 steering a vehicle; a display 4 displaying an operation mode image (an operation image) 13 of the on-vehicle equipment disposed in an opposite part to the steering wheel 1 on an instrument panel 2 of the vehicle; a touch panel 7 disposed on the steering wheel 1, composing a translucent window 16 which allows a driver to see the operation mode image (the operation image) 13 and to execute the input operation by touch; and a display/load controller (a control means) 9 sending an operation output to the on-vehicle equipment by the input operation of the touch panel 7 only when the steering wheel 1 is held in or near a rectilinear position.
