PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in a conventional tunnel boring machine that many cut-off gates are required in a configuration in which cut-off gates are provided in all cutter holders and many parts are uneconomically required in the cut-off gate for replacing a cutter in a worn part. SOLUTION: The cutter holder 5 holding the cutter 4 detachably is provided in a cutter frame 3 having a space partitioned from a space in a chamber, the cutter holder 5 is provided with a guide member 7 guiding the cutter 4 onto the counter-facing side 6, a slide member 8 sliding the cutter 4 onto the counter-facing side 6 along the guide member 7, and the cut-off gate 10 closing a facing side 9 of the slid cutter 4 to constitute the cut-off gate 10 so as to be attached and detached from the cutter holder 5. |
