PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy saving electric refrigerator in which chill supplied from a chill duct into the refrigerator compartment spreads efficiently and uniformly over the entire region in the compartment and reduction in the volume of the compartment is minimized. SOLUTION: The electric refrigerator comprises chill ducts 13 and 14 having a plurality of air outlets 16a for passing chill generated from an evaporator 10 and delivered by means of a fan 11 through a thermally insulated partitioner 5 and delivering the chill to a refrigeration compartment 7 and a freezing compartment 9, respectively, and a return chill passage 15 provided under the evaporator 10 in order to pass the return chill from the freezing compartment 9 through the thermally insulated partitioner 5. The chill ducts 13 for the refrigeration compartment 7 extend across the left and right corners in the rear of the refrigeration compartment 7 and have a triangular cross-section.
