PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method capable of cleanly performing the terminal treatment of the peripheral edge of the opening part of a trim member for a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the method for molding the trim member 10 for the vehicle wherein foam 16 is interposed between a base material 12 and a skin material 14 and an assembling opening part 20 is provided, a thin-walled part 28 is molded at the time of preforming of the skin material and an opening part 32 is provided to the base material at the time of preforming of the base material and the skin material is set to a first foaming mold 38 having a projected part 40 having an outside contour almost coinciding with the inside contour of the opening part and the region surrounded by the thin-walled part is applied to the projected part. The base material is set to a second foaming mold 42 having a recessed part 44 permitting the insertion of the projected part provided thereto and the opening part 32 of the base material is allowed to face to the recessed part correspondingly and both molds are clamped to foam a foamable raw liquid between the skin material and the base material and the region of the thin-walled part of the skin material of the demolded trim member is trimmed to provide a skin opening part 30 of which the peripheral edge coincides with the opening part of the base material. |
