PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the accurate paper feeding operation by a conveying roller even when the recording is executed by using the paper roll increasing its weight, to keep the normal printing quality. SOLUTION: A roll R is set on a paper roll cassette 1. The paper roll P is fed out from the roll R, and fed to a downstream side in the feeding direction. A rotating member 18 is upwardly stood in a case when the paper roll P is in a loosen state 'available', and a sensor detecting part 19 and a sensor engagement part 18b are disengaged from each other. When the paper roll P is in a loosen state 'unavailable' (stretched), the sensor detecting part 19 and the sensor engagement part 18b are engaged with each other, whereby a drum rotating roller 4 is rotated and driven to feed the paper roll P, and to prepare the loosen state 'available' of the paper roll P.
