PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receptacle for water works capable of preventing the penetration of concrete for placing into a housing body and being buried into a concrete wall or the like without weakening the strength of the housing body. SOLUTION: The receptacle for water works has a flow control handle 11 arranged in one opening 6 of a housing 1 and used for controlling the flow rate of water capable of flowing out from an outlet for a faucet body 10, a transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotary operation of the handle to a valve body and a joint section 12, which is fixed in the outlet for the faucet body while being arranged in the other opening 7 of the housing and in which a joint member installed at the upstream end of a water supply hose is freely mounted and demounted. The housing 1 is composed of a front section 2 and the housing body 3, to and from which the front section can be mounted and demounted and into which a faucet member containing the faucet body 10, the flow control handle 11, the transmission mechanism and the joint section 12 is incorporated, while a cover body 40 covering the housing body is secured.
