PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary type air compressor with oil encapsulated capable of accomplishing a compact and low-noise structure to a great extent from any conventional arrangement and of preventing piping, etc., from being damaged and also the compressed air to be discharged from being mixed with the oil. SOLUTION: The rotary type air compressor is composed of a compressor body 1 having a rotor to compress the air with oil contained and equipped with an air suction part, a discharging hole for the compressed air containing oil and a supply hole for the oil, a driving means coupled with the rotor for rotating it, a body casing 22 to accommodate the driving means and having a side wall whereto the compressor body is attached, an oil collecting vessel 3 attached to the side wall in such a way as covering the compressor body and storing the oil in the compressed air fed from the discharging hole, and an oil separating system accommodated in the body casing 22 and separating the oil from the compressed air introduced from the vessel 3, wherein the vessel 3 is provided penetratively with a communication passage leading to the suction hole in the compressor body 1.
