PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator that prevents seizing wear in a safety brake mechanism part. SOLUTION: A spring retaining auxiliary member 317 is disposed near a tip of a piston part 303a. The spring retaining auxiliary member 317 and a taper portion 306c of a spring retaining member 306 are engaged with each other to guide the spring retaining member 306 to a coaxial position with the piston part 303a. The inside diameter of the spring retaining member 306 is larger than the outside diameter of the piston part 303a, so that the spring retaining member 306 in the coaxial position is out of contact with the piston part 303a.
