PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fill a tire with compressed gas while the tire is fitted on a wheel. SOLUTION: A compressed gas filling device 10 has a controlling means for filling the tire 21 with a target filling pressure when the tire 21 is found filled with compressed gas to a tire fitting pressure. An operator first manually fills the tire 21 with compressed gas up to the tire fitting pressure required to hold the tire 21 fitted on the wheel 23. A CPU in a control panel 52 next executes a main filling process for automatically filling the tire 21 with the target filling pressure when finding the tire 21 filled with the tire fitting pressure. While fitted on the wheel 23, the tire 21 can be reliably filled with compressed gas up to the target filling pressure.
