The method to form a rolled scroll, at least at one end of a solid rod for railings and banisters, initially forges the rod end into a wedge shape. A short length of the free end is bent (9) at an angle of 30-90[deg]. The bent end is forced into a semi-circular recess (10) in a rolling tool (3), held against a supporting plate (2), and with a side guide (4) for the rod (1). The rod is pushed into the recess under control, according to the number of required curls in the shaped scroll.
