PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To seal the bottom of a blank without the help of a tool like a mandrel to be applied from inside the blank. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a sealed container by folding the container bottom constituting part of a rectangular barrel-shaped blank 41 into a flat bottom and sealing it comprises the bottom sealing step to collapse the opening edge of the container bottom constituting part into a flat form, and seal the opposite face of the collapsed opening edge like a superposed shape to form a straight line-like bottom sealing rib 32; and the top part sealing step to mold the container top constituting part of the rectangular barrel-shaped blank 41 into a gable roof-like top, and form a turn-in gusset-like top part sealing rib 31 at a part corresponding to the ridge of a roof. The bottom sealing step and the top sealing step are to be carried out in such a manner that both bottom sealing rib 32 and top sealing rib 31 cross over each other as viewed in a blank axial direction.
