PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lustrous pigment having high safety and exhibiting excellent brilliance using a glass substrate containing no substance liable to exert harmful influences on the environment and the human body, and further to provide a coating composition, a resin molded article, a cosmetic and an ink composition by appropriately making a sharp distinction among the lustrous pigments. SOLUTION: The lustrous pigment comprises a glass substrate covered with a metal or a metallic compound where the glass substrate contains as a constituent at least 55 wt.% of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and being substantially free from boron (B), fluorine (F) and zinc (Zn).
