PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction in thickness of a liquid crystal display panel and narrowing of its frame. SOLUTION: A capacitor is formed on one substrate 12a of the liquid crystal display panel by forming an electrode 134b, a dielectric film 135, and an electrode 134a based on a film formation technology, connected to the power supply terminal 131 of an IC for driving, and used as a capacitor for smoothing. Thereby, the thickness reduction and the narrowing of the frame of the liquid crystal display panel are attained more effectively than in the case, where a conventional capacitor is used.
