PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vessel having high sealing performance in order to store a radioactive material and allowed to accurately and stably detect the soundness of a welded state at a weld part between a drum part and a lid body. SOLUTION: This vessel C for storing the radioactive material has a canister drum 1 and a lid body 6 provided at an opening 3 of the canister drum 1. The canister drum 1 and the lid body 6 are jointed by magnetic stirring welding. The thickness of the canister drum 1 near the opening 3 is uniformly formed.
