PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact and inexpensive heat exchanger having a long life in which a function for removing harmful materials can be recovered by a regenerating treatment. SOLUTION: Two kinds of air flows are allowed to flow across a partition member 2 with a space held by a space holding member 3, and a heat exchange is performed between the two kinds of air flows through the partition member 2 in the heat exchanger 1. The space holding member 3 and the partition member 2 have a water resistance. At least, the space holding member 3 has a function for removing materials of offensive odor included in the air flows, and the aged deterioration of the removing function of the offensive odor materials can be recovered by water or solution.
