PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storing device for disaster preventing articles, in which various kinds of disaster preventing articles to be used in an emergency of the occurrence of a disaster can be kept in a stored state, which does not spoil a scene in a park or the like where the storing device is set, and which makes it possible to easily and quickly use the disaster preventing articles in an emergency, and also to provide a simplified toilet which utilizes the storing device. SOLUTION: The storing device is placed on a setting face G in a park or the like and is fixed thereto while leaving a gap 7 between a lower end portion 2b of a casing 2 of the storing device and the setting face G, and a lid member 3 is mounted to an upper end portion 2a of the casing in a demountable manner. Disaster preventing articles required are housed in a storing inner chamber 8 of the casing 2 to be stored therein. The lid member 3 is utilizable as a seating face of a stool at ordinary times. In an emergency of the occurrence of a disaster, the lid member 3 is demounted, and the stored disaster preventing articles are taken out of the casing 2 to place them at the service of materials for the relief. Further, a toilet seat capable of being stored in the casing is constituted, and it is set on an upper edge of the casing in place of the lid member 3. Thus, a toilet seat is constituted and can be used as a simplified toilet in the case of emergency.
