PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified diene-based copolymer rubber having low tanδvalue at 70 deg.C in dynamic properties, thereby having excellent fuel efficiency and further excellent in processability, a method for producing the modified diene-based copolymer rubber and a rubber composition obtained by using the modified diene-based copolymer rubber. SOLUTION: This modified diene-based copolymer rubber is obtained by reacting an aromatic ester compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each H or a 1-8C alkyl; and m and n are each an integer of 1-3) with an active conjugated diene-based polymer obtained by polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer and an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of an alkali metal-based catalyst in a hydrocarbon solvent and having the alkali metal terminal.
