PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly remove the contaminant which adheres to the surface of a porous mold and penetrates in a porous material. SOLUTION: At first, the contaminant, which adheres to the molding surface of the porous metal of the porous mold 10, is removed by shot blasting or the like and, subsequently, the porous mold 10 is arranged in a washing tank 26 filled with a washing liquid 98 to be subjected to ultrasonic washing. Since the washing liquid penetrates in the porous metal, the contaminant, which penetrates in the porous metal, can be swollen and dissolved to be peeled from the surface of the porous metal. When the washing tank is evacuated and the air in the deep part of the porous metal is swollen, the contaminant accumulated in the vicinity of the surface of the porous metal is moved toward the molding surface along with the washing liquid penetrated in the porous metal to be discharged to the molding surface. Thereafter, washing water is sprayed on the molding surface by a sprinkler to wash off the contaminant and the porous mold 10 is dried under vacuum.
