PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric shutter capable of preventing a shutter curtain from being opened simply even if a switch box is forcedly opened and an operation switch is depressed. SOLUTION: A controller for the electric shutter is provided with an opening and closing machine 3 for opening and closing the shutter curtain 1, an operation means 7 for outputting an operation signal for driving the opening and closing machine 3, a control means 8 for receiving the operation signal from the operation means and outputting a drive signal for the opening and closing machine 3, an electronic key 9 for transmitting a release signal, and a release signal receiving part 10 for receiving the release signal from the electronic key 9. When the release signal receiving part 10 receives the release signal outputted from the electronic key 9, the shutter curtain 1 is opened and closed based on the operation signal from the operation means 7.
