PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a toy capable of imitating motion and a control method thereof are provided to enable the toy to save and demonstrate a certain motion, thus facilitating the induction of interest of a user. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for controlling a toy capable of imitating motion comprises a motion tracking device(24) for tracking motions of the toy made by the manipulation of a user and coding the tracking result values; and a control device(28) for saving the motion code values of the toy and controlling a motion demonstration of the toy on the basis of the saved data file.
