PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column and beam joining structure capable of surely transmitting the stress of a beam to a column, hardly generating the local yield of the column and excellent in construction. SOLUTION: In the column and beam joining structure rigidly joining an H-section steel beam 10 to the flange part 3 of an H-section steel column 1 by a non-diaphragm, when the axial force of the beam generated by bending of the beam 10 on the column 1 is applied, the yield strength of the column 1 and the beam 10 is set so that the beam 10 is yielded prior to the column 1.
