PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a (meth)acrylate which has a cyclic skeleton and whose metal content is extremely low. SOLUTION: The (meth)acrylate is represented by formula (1) (R is H or methyl; Z is an organic group having a cyclic skeleton) and has a metal content of <=500 ppb. The organic group having a cyclic skeleton as Z includes an organic group having an adamantane ring, an organic group having a 3- oxatricyclo[4.3.1.14,8]undecane ring, an organic group having a 3- oxatricyclo[4.2.1.04,8]nonane ring and an organic group having aγ-butylolactone ring.
