PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range hood in which soot can be captured and discharged outdoors surely. SOLUTION: The range hood 10 comprises a hood body 11 disposed above a cooking unit, e.g. a range, installed in the kitchen and capturing exhaust gas containing soot generated from a cooker on the cooking unit, a suction fan 12 disposed in the hood body 11, and an exhaust duct 13 for discharging exhaust gas containing soot captured by the suction fan 12 outdoors. A circulation flow ventilation passage 20 having an introduction opening opening immediately in front of the exhaust duct 13 and an ejection opening 22 opening to the lower section of the hood body 11 is formed on the hood body 11 side. Exhaust opening of the suction fan 12 is opened to the exhaust duct 13 side and to the introduction opening 21 so that an air curtain can be formed at the lower section of the hood body 11 by a part of exhaust gas containing soot sucked by the suction fan 12.
