PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow melting device shortening the snow melting time, saving electricity, installed by a simple execution method, and ensuring maintenance and management. SOLUTION: At a snowfall, a control means 3 gives a snow melting heat quantity to a snow melting panel 2 with a heating means, the temperature of the upper face of the snow melting panel 2 quickly rises, and snow is melted in a short time. A water level detecting means 7 detects the water level of the snow melting panel 2 and its vicinity, the control means 3 operates the heating means after judging that the water level around the snow melting panel 2 is not retained based on the water level detection signal from the water level detecting means 7, therefore no extra rainwater is heated, and wasteful energy consumption is prevented.
