<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly efficiently producing and then collecting alcohol using a specific transformed plant with considerably reduced load on energy, resources and the environment compared to conventional chemical production processes. SOLUTION: This method for producing alcohol comprises reduction in a transformed plant transfected with the gene of an acyl reductase which is in expression, with a substrate consisting of an aliphatic acyl group bound via thioester linkage to CoA and/or ACP in the presence of NADPH and/or NADH by the acyl reductase and then collecting the thus obtained alcohol.</p> |
