PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable, safe and well-designed opener that can easily split-open a junk food bag, or the like that one fails to open and split-open. SOLUTION: The emergency opener comprises a card-shaped plate such as a card type thin plastic plate, a curved slit formed so as to separately form a recessed portion and a protruded portion on the plate, serrated cutters provided near the end of the slit and a pattern of a human or animal whose mouth is the curved slit. It is used as follows: the card is slightly bent vertically, the edge of a bag to be open is slipped into and pinched in an opening made by the slit when the recessed portion and the protruded portion and dislocated at the slit, the card is held by fingers, the edge of the bag is applied to the cutting edges of the serrated cutters by the other hand and the bag is split-open.
