The present invention provides an agent for contact lenses, which contains an oxo-acid compound and/or a polyacid compound. The agent for contact lenses of the present invention can remove protein as, for example, a protein remover, irrespective of the kind of contact lens and without using a special cleaning device. In addition, washing with water after protein removal is not necessary.
