<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide roller method and equipment of rolling mills for sheets or plates capable of improving a edge drop vastly, reducing its variance and continuing rolling operation efficiently, without forming surface defects. SOLUTION: The rolling mills for sheets or plates that comprise a pair of top and bottom work rolls that roll sheets or plates, intermediate rolls that support the work rolls respectively and back-up rolls that support the intermediate rolls respectively. In the rolling method of these mills where part of the work rolls near one end is tapered and they are arranged oppositely along roll axis, there are the advantages that in rolling sheets or plates with same width, the position at the axial direction of the work rolls can be adjusted to a pre-determined position, and the crosswise thickness distribution of rolled stock can be controlled due to changing the position at the axial direction of the intermediate rolls.</p> |
