PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for continuous casting which, by the use of a simple equipment in casting a molten metal continuously, prevents the molten metal in the mold from flowing and can manufacture an ingot of superior quality even though the casting speed rises. SOLUTION: A back-up plate, which supports a water-cooled copper plate that is an inside surface of a mold, is attached to the back of the water-cooled copper plate, and electromagnets are attached to the back of a long side surface of the back-up plate facing each other in the mold, and the back-up plate and reinforcing plates which are attached to the back of the electromagnets are connected and fixed with connecting members.
