The fixture for a board, plaque or plate to a support for display of information, such as a street sign, traffic sign or route indicator, works in conjunction with a post, traffic light, stop light, stairs landing or porch. It takes the form of a clamp assembly (1) comprising a first clamp unit (2) engaging in a second identical such unit. The two clamp units are connected to each other by a bolt (4) and a nut (5). The area (A) enclosed by the clamp units can accommodate a support, such as a post or column. On the side turned away from the bolt and nut, the clamp assembly is provided with feet (30,40), between which the edge of a board, plaque or plate can be clamped.
